The school has been an outstanding leader in Nursing Education for over 120 years. With a long tradition of teaching excellence and a mission of providing superior patient care, the school is dedicated to continuing these commitments. The original goals of quality care and teaching are as evident at our school now as they were over 100 years ago.
Innovation, growth and high achievement also characterize our school. In addition to classroom learning experiences directed by a talented and dedicated faculty, the school also focuses on clinical components in every nursing course.
- Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) and become a registered nurse.
- Liberal arts courses are taken at St. Francis College. Students may transfer in courses, if they are deemed the equivalent by the registrar.
- Once students obtain their Associate in Applied Science degree, they are eligible to take NCLEX RN. To be licensed applicants who have been charged with or convicted of a crime (felony or misdemeanor) in any state or county will be referred to the State Office of professional Disciple. Although the applicant may take the licensing examination, they may not be issued a limited permit and /or registered profession nurse license depending on the results of the investigation process.
- The School of Nursing is located in Carroll Gardens. The school is a short walk from St. Francis College. The majority of the clinical experiences occur at the Long Island College Hospital.
- Financial aid is available to qualified students.
Open house programs will be held at the Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing, 340 Court Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231 on the 3rd floor. The school is located on Court Street Between Union and Sackett Streets in the Carrol Gardens area of Brooklyn.
